Templeton Furniture Company of Brattleboro, Vermont produced vintage bedroom case pieces of genuine quality and regional American character. This mid-century four-drawer chest carries the original cast brass Templeton maker’s plaque inside the upper drawer — providing unambiguous attribution and distinguishing this piece from the vast majority of vintage case furniture that circulates without any maker identification.

The design is mid-century American at its most resolved. Carved arc pulls are routed directly into each walnut drawer face — a clean, hardware-free approach that gives the front elevation a quiet sculptural unity. The rounded corner posts extend slightly above the top surface, forming a low gallery rail that frames the top plane with understated elegance. Drawer interiors are fitted in maple or birch secondary wood, smooth-running and well-constructed throughout.

The warm walnut tone is consistent across all four drawer fronts and the case sides, and the overall proportions — upright, compact, and well-balanced — make this vintage chest as useful today as when it left the Brattleboro workshop. It functions equally well as a bedroom dresser, an entryway chest, or a living room media console. Offered with its original maker’s plaque intact.
