Vintage Southampton Demilune Wall Console Table Cane Glass Top

This vintage Southampton wall table combines a classic demilune silhouette with an especially good mix of wood, woven cane, and glass.

The half-round top is framed by dark-finished wood with a softly scalloped edge. Within that frame, a woven cane surface sits beneath removable glass, allowing the pattern and texture of the cane to become part of the tabletop rather than simply an accent. The contrast between the cane, transparent glass, and darker surrounding wood gives the piece depth while keeping the overall profile visually light.

The base is just as distinctive. Ornamental scroll brackets create an open, decorative structure beneath the top before transitioning into a three-footed base. The outward sweep of the legs echoes the curve of the demilune top and gives the table a sculptural quality from both the front and side.

Southampton was the occasional wood furniture line of Southwood Furniture Corporation, a Hickory, North Carolina furniture maker associated with traditional and historically inspired designs. The table reflects that background through its Regency-influenced form, while the cane-and-glass top gives it a more relaxed vintage character.

Its shallow footprint makes it especially useful in an entryway, hallway, foyer, living room, or along a wall where a conventional rectangular console would project too far into the room.
