Vintage Mid-Century Modern Pink Platform Sofa & Daybed

This vintage mid-century sofa/daybed is about as straightforward as good vintage modern furniture gets: a slim wood platform, long tapered legs, one generous upholstered seat, and two removable back cushions.

The result is a really clean, low-profile sofa with a great horizontal silhouette. The dusty pink upholstery has a subtle repeating pattern that gives it some personality without taking away from the simplicity of the frame.

The best feature is its versatility. The two wedge-shaped back cushions lift away, leaving the full upholstered platform open for use as a daybed or oversized lounging surface. It’s a clever design that makes the piece particularly useful in a guest room, office, den, studio, or smaller living space.

We also like the fact that it’s completely armless. Viewed from either end, there’s almost nothing interrupting the long line of the wood platform and upholstered seat, while the tapered legs keep the entire piece elevated and visually light.

The design is consistent with American mid-century modern furniture from around the 1950s–60s, but we’re leaving the manufacturer and designer unattributed without documentation.
