Vintage French Provincial Tall Square Occasional Table

A graceful vintage side table combining geometric parquetry with the flowing curves of French Provincial design.

The shaped square top features a decorative veneer arrangement with sections meeting symmetrically toward the center. A molded perimeter follows the gently serpentine edges, giving the tabletop a softer and more sculptural appearance than a conventional square end table.

Below, the shaped apron is centered by a carved shell motif and accented with additional scrolling details at the corners. Four slender cabriole legs continue the Louis XV-inspired vocabulary, sweeping downward to small scrolling feet.

The contrast is particularly appealing: structured geometric pattern across the top paired with an almost continuous series of curves through the apron and legs.

Its proportions make the piece adaptable as a living-room end table, lamp table, bedside table, or occasional accent. It can work naturally within a traditional or French Provincial setting while also adding warmth and ornament to a more eclectic room.
