This matched pair of vintage Provincial high-back armchairs embodies the decorative warmth and neoclassical elegance that made this style one of the most enduring of the American vintage furniture canon. Each chair is constructed in walnut with a shaped cane back panel set within a scalloped frame, a styled crest rail inset with richly figured burlwood veneer, scrolled open armrests, and turned fluted front legs terminating in spade feet — the complete Italian Provincial vocabulary, executed with the care and proportion that distinguishes quality vintage production from ordinary period furniture.

The drop-in seat cushions are upholstered in cream microsuede — a neutral, contemporary finish that works naturally against the warm walnut and honey cane, and that makes the chairs immediately usable without reupholstering. The cane panels are intact on both chairs and the frames are solid throughout. Both chairs present as a well-matched pair.

Versatile in application, these chairs function as dining armchairs at the heads of a table, as accent chairs in a living room or library, or as desk chairs with genuine vintage presence.
