Ferguson Copeland Carved Wood & Leather Crest Armchair

A statement-making Ferguson Copeland armchair from the European Country collection, combining carved wood, leather upholstery, nailhead trim and a hand-painted heraldic coat-of-arms crest.

The chair takes its cues from historic European country-house furniture, with a substantial carved frame and richly layered decorative treatment. Leather brings warmth and texture to the design, while nailhead detailing provides definition around the upholstered sections. The painted crest across the back is the centerpiece, giving the chair an unmistakable Old World personality.

Ferguson Copeland produced this design during the early 21st century, and another documented European Country crest chair is dated 2000–2009.  The design incorporates Baroque and broader traditional European influences without being a literal reproduction of a single historic model.

Despite its traditional references, this chair could work especially well as an unexpected statement piece in a more eclectic room—at a desk, beside a fireplace, in a library or paired with cleaner modern furnishings.
